AVENE TOLERANCE EXTREME EMULSION SKIN
Lightweight, milky emulsion uses only 6 essential ingredients to soothe and moisturize hypersensitive skin and restore healthy skin function. Formulated without preservatives, parabens or fragrance. Suitable for all levels of skin sensitivity. I’d rate this product an 8/10 (bumped it up 2 points solely for the short ingredient list + fungal safe bit).A light and gentle daily moisturiser for normal to combination, sensitive skin.Ī lightweight, milky emulsion, with only six essential ingredients, Tolérance Extrême Emulsion hydrates and soothes very sensitive skin and helps maintain the skin natural balance in the delicate microbiome. It’s not terribly moisturising and doesn’t have that rich feel that you’d get with other moisturisers, but the short ingredient list and the fact that it’s FA-safe are worth the payoff (my anxiety agrees). I find the amount of moisture it delivers to be rather impressive considering it only has about 6 ingredients. Verdict: I’ve been using this baby for almost three months now and AFAIK it hasn’t broken me out or added to the comedones which love to hang out on my face. Also, some extra cream ALWAYS dribbles out of the weird nozzle thingy, so I try to wait a bit before I close the lid, so I can use the extra product (otherwise it gets smooshed into the lid). However, I hate the way I need to squeeze extremely carefully, otherwise way too much product shoots out and I have to use another layer (which, as I mentioned, makes it pill). I love how (I’m totally going to explain it wrong but bear with me) it’s vacuum sealed so by the end of the tube I don’t need to cut it open to use the excess. Packaging: I have a love/hate relationship with this. Two of them are basically water, so this cream pretty much only has 4 potentially irritating ingredients. I’ve heard of straight up squalane breaking some folks out but I believe the majority of the ingredients are pretty safe. Ingredients: AVÈNE THERMAL SPRING WATER,SQUALANE, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, CAPRYLIC / CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERIN, SODIUM ACRYLATES C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, WATER. One bottle lasts me about a month and a half (less now, since I am in a very dry climate this summer and need to reapply more often) if I use a generous amount twice a day. Price: I suppose it’s not objectively “cheap” at £11 (~15 USD) for 50 ml, but considering I was shelling out a whopping £33 (~45 USD) for the same amount of product by Ren, I find it very reasonable. I tried the Avene Skin Recovery Cream and ugh, it felt so silky and CREAM-y in comparison, but alas, such is life.Īlso, it PILLS-mostly when you try to use more than one layer of the product. It’s a very liquidy, light moisturiser and it takes a little while to adjust to it.
The best way I can describe the texture is that it’s as if you took a nice creamy moisturiser and mixed it with some water. It smells clean and basic, not overpowering or noticeable at all.įeel: I’ll admit, it’s not fantastic. I bought this moisturiser as, according to u/sssfc, it is the most FA-safe one out there. To cut a long story short, I started to get itchy closed comedones which turned into active acne and didn’t respond to any conventional acne treatment (BP, salicylic acid, tretinoin). 99% sure I had malassezia folliculitis/fungal acne at the beginning of the year. Skin concerns: i have dry/normal skin, prone to closed comedones and acne. I’ve made my way through over two bottles of this moisturiser, so I felt like it was time I reviewed it!
